Bay Head & Mantoloking Today – April 2018

There is a lot happening in and around Bay Head and Mantoloking right now!  Spring has been slowing in coming here – including recent snow – but now bulbs are up, and trees are blooming.  We hope that all is well wherever you are, whether you’re here in town, or still away for the winter!  In addition to the usual introductory video below, we have also prepared a video of recent local views, set to music: “April Views – Bay Head, Mantoloking, and Beyond“.  We hope you enjoy it!

Around the Towns

The Army Corps of Engineers recently announced that the start of beach replenishment in Bay Head is likely to be delayed until sometime in August.  As of this writing, the schedule remains unchanged for Mantoloking.  The Army Corps posts updates here periodically.  Flood insurance continues to be in the news, but the National Flood Insurance Program has been reauthorized through July 31, 2018.  Work continues on the new Mantoloking borough hall, and there are many curb and paving projects in the works throughout Bay Head – don’t be surprised by rough pavement and street closings!

Earlier this week, the Grenville was struck by lightning, specifically the pointed roof of the turret – though Bay Head and Mantoloking fire companies responded, no active fire was found, nor were any injuries reported.

The county’s document shredding program for residents has started up recently – locations and other details can be found here.

Clean Ocean Action’s Beach Sweeps are this Saturday, April 21st, at multiple locations, rain or shine.  Details and registration can be found here, and on their website. Bay Head’s meeting location is the Beach House Classic Board Shop on Main Avenue – walk-ons are welcome!

The “Golden Pass” Raffle to benefit the Bay Head Fire Company has started ticket sales for 2018 – the winner of the drawing will be entitled to be first in line at Mueller’s and Hoffman’s all summer!  The proceeds ($2.00 per ticket) go to the Bay Head Fire Company to purchase equipment.  Tickets are available for sale at Mueller’s.  More details can be found here.Good luck!

The market remains strong in Bay Head and Mantoloking, with a number of recent properties under contract, new listings, and closings.  As always, our current listings can be found here.  Included in our current inventory is our newest listing at 224 Buccaneer Way in Mantoloking Shores.
