Mantoloking Bridge Repairs Start, Beach Construction Continues

As we approach the two year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy,  repairs have started at the Mantoloking bridge to fix what was damaged by the storm.  So far, steel has been driven to shore up the damaged bridge abutment, and there is also evidence of undermining that will have to be filled.  The contract was awarded to the Earle Companies, and work is well under way.  In the coming weeks, beware of lane closures and changing traffic patterns as you approach and cross the bridge.

Curb and sidewalk replacement has started through out much of Mantoloking, and updates can be found on the borough website.  A recent presentation by the Office of Emergency Management provided updates on many topics that may be of interest to residents of Mantoloking and other towns.

In Bay Head, discussion and fundraising efforts continue in an effort to implement a stone revetment instead of the beach replenishment which is part of the upcoming Army Corps of Engineers project.
